Williams F1 boss backs Alex Albon after incident made angry Carlos Sainz ‘look stupid’
Carlos Sainz fumed that he was made to “look stupid” and said he had “lost confidence” in Williams after a radio mix-up saw Alex Albon overtake when the Spaniard had been told that wasn’t going to happen
James Vowles has absolved Alex Albon of any blame for the Williams team orders mix-up which left Carlos Sainz furious. The Spaniard was clearly unhappy at the end of the Miami Grand Prix despite contributing to a double points finish for the team.
