India announced a strong squad for the Asian Athletics Championships 2025 in Gumi, South Korea, starting from 27 May. Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra is set to miss the event due to his prior commitments to other competitions. Avinash Sable, Jyothi Yarraji, and Shaili Singh to headline.
India is all set to take part in the Asian Athletics Championships 2025, which will be held in Gumi, the Republic of Korea, from 27 May. The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) announced the squad on Friday after the Federation Cup in Kochi, which was the final selection trial for the event.
India’s biggest javelin star,
Neeraj Chopra, will not be taking part in the championships this time. He will instead focus on the Doha Diamond League on 16 May and the Neeraj Chopra Classic on 24 May. In his absence, Sachin Yadav and Yashvir Singh will compete for India in the men’s javelin throw event.
Meanwhile, athletes like Avinash Sable and Shaili Singh will feature in the packed squad in both men’s and women’s categories. Here is the full list of Indian athletes who will take part in the competition.
