Two dead and six injured after horrific 11-bike crash at Oulton Park event

A catastrophic crash on the first lap of the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship race at Oulton Park on Monday has resulted in the tragic deaths of two riders. Owen Jenner, 21, and Shane Richardson, 29, both lost their lives with six others injured. The incident occurred when 11 riders fell from their bikes in a chain reaction, prompting an immediate stop to the race and the deployment of trackside medical services. One bike was on fire as emergency services responded.

The Supersport Feature race was one of the main support races for the opening round of the 2025 British Superbikes Championship. The Cheshire meeting was suspended after a red flag and later cancelled altogether due to what series director Stuart Higgs labelled “a severe and catastrophic incident”.
