Tennis LIVE: Raducanu takes matters into her own hands as Swiatek knocked down a peg

Carlos Alcaraz ended Jannik Sinner’s sensational 26-game winning run on Sunday when beating the world No.1 in the Italian Open final. The Spaniard secured a 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 success before admitting that he felt at his very best in Rome, much to the frustration of his rival.
The defeat saw Sinner fail to mark his return from a three-month doping ban with a title in his homeland, but he will take plenty of confidence from his displays ahead of Roland-Garros. His loss also prevented Italians from landing a quick-fire double, with Jasmine Paolini beating Coco Gauff in the women’s final on Saturday.
