SILVER KNOTT is fancied to make a winning return from his travels to lift the Group 2 Betfred Jockey Club Stakes (4.05) at Newmarket on Friday. The son of Lope De Vega was a smart two-year-old in Britain for Charlie Appleby and Godolphin in 2022, with victories at Group 3 level in the Solario Stakes at Sandown Park and Newmarket’s Autumn Stakes. After running down the field behind Chaldean in the 2000 Guineas the following May, Silver Knott continued his career in America, running with credit in defeat in Graded company during the remainder of the year.
