Mohamed Salah twisted the knife into Manchester United as he took to social media just minutes after the end of the Europa League final. The Red Devils were humiliated as they hit a new low by losing to Tottenham, who ended their 17-year wait for a major trophy. Brennan Johnson’s scrappy goal just before the break proved to be the difference in a game of very little quality.
United’s players looked utterly dejected after the final whistle as their Tottenham counterparts wheeled away to celebrate. The red half of the stadium emptied within minutes and it did not take much longer for Salah to rub their noses in it. He took to X (formerly Twitter) just moments after the match had ended to congratulate Spurs on breaking their trophy duck.
