Micky van de Ven reveals 'trophyless' warning when he joined Tottenham as he seeks to silence trolls
Micky van de Ven has revealed he was told he would be “trophyless for the rest of his career” when he joined Tottenham and says the current squad is determined to change the perception of the club by winning the Europa League.
Van de Ven signed for Spurs in a deal worth around £43million from Wolfsburg in 2023 and says he was trolled on social media by people suggesting he would never win anything in north London.
“We all know we play for a big club,” Van de Ven said. “This club deserves trophies. That’s the truth. If you look at the quality in the squad, we deserve a trophy.
