Mark Williams shows his class after losing to ‘Luke Littler of snooker’ Zhao Xintong
Mark Williams spoke out after losing to Zhao Xintong in the World Snooker Championship final on Monday night and compared the Chinese player to darts superstar Luke Littler. The Welshman was unable to compete with Zhao’s confident display in the showpiece match as he lost the encounter 18-12.
Zhao overcame Ronnie O’Sullivan in the semi-finals and stormed clear in the final as he started the last session with a 17-8 advantage, just one frame from victory. Williams rallied as he won four frames on the bounce to give himself a fighting chance. But his opponent won the 30th frame of the match after the mid-session interval to become the first player from Asia to lift the World Championship trophy.
