Mark Allen shuts down prize money talk after beating Chinese star to claim Helsinki title

Mark Allen has taken to social media to clear up a misunderstanding about the prize money he received for winning the Helsinki International Cup. The man from Northern Ireland bounced back from his World Snooker Championship disappointment to claim the honours in the Finnish capital. He made five centuries on Sunday as part of a brilliant run to the invitational title.

Allen began his campaign with an impressive victory over last year’s world champion Kyren Wilson. He followed it up with a nail-biting win against Ali Carter before storming past Zhang Anda to get his hands on the trophy. He was three frames down at one stage but won six on the bounce to wrap up the match.
