Man Utd players ratings vs Tottenham: Nine stars below par in Europa League final loss
Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham in a drab Europa League final of very few chances. The loss compounds the worst season in United’s history as they sit 16th in the Premier League table.
Spurs took the lead three minutes before half-time when Brennan Johnson turned in Pape Matar Sarr’s cross from the left wing after the ball took a fortunate bounce off Luke Shaw. Rasmus Hojlund thought he had drawn the Red Devils level midway through the second half but his header was cleared off the line by a remarkable acrobatic effort from Micky van de Ven.
