Lewis Hamilton was left baffled by his Ferrari engineers’ indecision during the Miami Grand Prix, telling Riccardo Adami and his garage to ‘have a tea break’ while they decided whether or not to invert their cars. The legendary Brit was running in eighth place, behind team-mate Charles Leclerc, but Hamilton was enjoying medium-compound rubber, compared to the hards bolted onto the No.16 machine.

Stuck behind his Ferrari colleague with Kimi Antonelli in his sights up the road, the seven-time world champion started to become audibly frustrated. “I’m just burning up my tyres behind him,” he protested to Adami. “You want me to just sit here the whole race?”
