F1 LIVE: Lewis Hamilton replacement shows true colours as Ferrari hit with FIA punishment
It’s qualifying day at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix after two intriguing practice sessions on Friday. McLaren were firmly on top with Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris claiming one-two finishes in FP1 and FP2. They will be hoping to make their superiority count against the clock, keeping the likes of Max Verstappen and George Russell at arm’s length.
Lewis Hamilton will also be looking for a positive qualifying session after failing to pull up any trees in practice. He came fifth in FP1 but slipped to 11th in second practice with Ferrari struggling to challenge the front runners. His team-mate Charles Leclerc did not fare any better, which suggests it could be another painful weekend for the iconic red team.
