Emma Raducanu ramps up Wimbledon plans after accepting tournament wildcard

Emma Raducanu has added another tournament to her schedule as she bids to fine-tune her game ahead of Wimbledon. The British No. 2 is already set to compete in the new WTA 500 event at London’s Queen’s Club in the first week of the grass season, and she has now taken a wildcard into the Berlin Tennis Open the following week.

Tournament organisers announced the news in a press conference on Wednesday. Along with Raducanu, Naomi Osaka and German star Eva Lys have also received wildcards. The Berlin Tennis Open is another WTA 500 event, giving Raducanu the chance to get some extra matches and ranking points before heading back home for Wimbledon.
