Daisy looking to prove they can mix it with the top teams

Daisy Hill will be looking to end March on a high note when they host promotion chasing Euxton Villa at the Plumb Factory Stadium in the North West Counties League First Division North on Saturday (3pm).

Daisy have picked up four wins and a draw from five games in league and cup competitions during the month, and after Monday night’s convincing 6-0 win against Little Lever SC in the Bolton Hospital Cup, assistant manager Jack Iley says a game against an Euxton side desperately in need of points to secure a promotion play-off place is one to relish.

“We’ve said for a few weeks now that we have a part to play in the promotion race and the play-offs, and for us this is a big game,” said Iley.

“It’s going to be a tough test, but we want to prove ourselves and show that we deserve to be up challenging next season, and there is no better way of doing that than by finishing the league campaign by beating the teams up at the top this season.
