Carlos Alcaraz wants Jack Draper ‘revenge’ as pair face off at Italian Open

Carlos Alcaraz declared he is ready to wreak “revenge” on Jack Draper when they clash in the Italian Open quarter-finals on Wednesday. The British No.1 shocked the Spanish superstar in the semi-finals at Indian Wells in March on his way to his first Masters title. Now the two meet again on the clay in the Italian capital of Rome, both seeking big wins before the French Open on May 25.
Victory for Alcaraz will see him reclaim the world No.2 spot from Alex Zverev and guarantee the No.2 seeding in Paris – and avoid Jannik Sinner until the final. And another win for the in-form Draper, who reached the final in Madrid, will see him enter the world’s top four for the first time. Alcaraz, who needed three sets to see of Karen Khachanov, said: “I’m just ready. I’m just looking forward to playing against him. He’s one of the best players in the world right now. The results shows how good is playing lately.
