Ange Postecoglou felt lack of Tottenham 'faith' in narrow focus on Europa League glory

Tottenham’s Europa League-winning head coach Ange Postecoglou has said he did not feel “the faith and trust” of everybody at the club after deciding to prioritise the competition at the end of January.

Postecoglou became the first Spurs manager to win a European trophy since Keith Burkinshaw in 1984 as the club’s 17-year wait for silverware came to an end with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in Bilbao.

He added that his decision was “at odds” with what others at the club wanted but says he understood the doubts.
