AFC Wimbledon's Sam Hutchinson undergoes surgery after suffering 'complications' during game
AFC Wimbledon midfielder Sam Hutchinson has undergone heart surgery, having experienced “complications” following the club’s final league game of the season earlier this month.
Former Chelsea player Hutchinson scored against Grimsby as the Dons confirmed their spot in the League Two play-offs, but later experienced chest pain during the match and was taken to hospital in Nottingham that evening.
“Sam was taken to hospital on the journey back where he was treated and assessed. Sam then had a successful procedure at the end of last week in London and he now has a clear return to play plan in place.
